Ruger PC Charger Review: All You Need to Know

Interestingly, we are living in fascinating times. The violent shifts in capital markets have just cratered the price of silver. The Ruger PC charger is a Ruger PC line extension. The Ruger PC Series is a Ruger 10/22 variant of the pistol-caliber carbine. Although the system of the Ruger PC charger brace is quite similar to the classic Ruger 10/22, it comes with a centerfire caliber of 9 mm. The Ruger PC carbine has stormed the sector as people were searching for a safe pistol-caliber carbine format, not AR-15.

The last few years have seen great results in PSA AK V, Sig Sauer Copperhead, Stribog SP9A1, and CZ Scorpion. So, it is not surprising that Ruger wants to profit from the demand for carbine pistol-caliber. A pistol-caliber carbine was launched in previous years but had withdrawn afterward. Many indoor ranges prevent employers from using any centerfire cartridges.

However, they will encourage customers to fire carbines in the range of pistol-caliber as they don’t trigger backup harm. Because of this reason and the relative affordability of 9mm ammunition, the Ruger PC Carbine was a no-brainer to the Ruger’s production team. Numerous 9mm carbines in the AR-style have issues. However, Ruger is very configurable and has several choices on the AR platform, but tolerance is a drawback with all these choices. Tolerance can become a problem, and the 9mm AR platform did not have true standards.

For this reason, some of the AR-15 options can be finished and inaccurate in 9mm. Ruger’s own delayed operating system was designed to be even more stable than the average 9mm pistol-caliber carbine off-shelf AR 15 system. Before the gun braces were a reality, Ruger had launched the 10/22 charger. The Ruger 10/22 Charger was a trendy pistol gun; since the bracelets were introduced.

Ruger PC Charger “Charging”

The Charger is a large-format pistol chambered in 9mm based upon the popularity of the extremely successful PC Carbine, particularly the recent chassis model. Like the PCC, Ruger and Glock’s Gun magazines have interchangeable puff mechanisms. The tungsten dead-blow weight is also available to eliminate bolt travel and reduce recoil, including a reversible bolt loading handle and a reversible release for the magazine. And indeed, for the suppressor or other mouse gadgets, the 6.5-inch barrel (1/2 x 28) is threaded. What do I say? What do I say? Roll and rock from the pack, it’s ready.

Fortunately, before the announcement, I was sent to a review unit, and I must admit that I have been a little excited because I had the weapon. It’s all about Ruger’s little touches in the mix and the possibilities for what the PC Charger might be with a bit of creativity. The glass-filled polymer chassis framework, for example, enables the customer to replace the grip with another normal AR grip. The forend has a manufacturing-installed hand stop to secure the gunman. M-LOK fittings. The part of the resilience is a small Picatinny rail at the end of the receiver of the PC Charger; a stabilization strap or other attachments installed on the gunman.

Ruger PC Charger Defense

Alarmed by the crowds of frozen maniacs looking for toilet papers on the streets and the shores of the store, I took the potential of the PC Charger to dress for protective use. The people at SB Tactical sent a great folding brace for FS1913. It connects to the Charger’s receptacle via the Picatinny rail. They shipped the “A” variant that sports aluminum against a polymer. The “A” model has a length of 9.25 inches and weighs 3 ounces more than the polymer model in 13 ounces. It also runs $50 more than the $199 polymer edition. But for all the aesthetics, clean machining, and outstanding construction efficiency, it is worth the extra premium.

I mounted a redpoint optic Aimpoint Micro H1 on the incorporated top rail of the Picatinny to hold the FS13 bracelet on the PC Charger. For such a low-profile bundle, the H1 proved to be the ideal partner. Often, the extra-long life of the battery means that it can still go when you are. A Streamlight TLR-7 weapon light was the last accessory. I’ve got plenty of those units. They are robust, simple to fix, and deliver 500 lumens of excellent performance. This performance is perfect for lighting up a narrow space like a spacious room or corridor without so much backlight that might impair the visibility of the gunman.

Power

The PC Charger is a very elegant and lightweight kit with its components and a basic Magwell 15 or 17-round magazine. It can be conveniently stored in a medium-sized package for the purpose of discreet transport. Naturally, I had to take that one additional step; with my SilencerCo Octane-9, even I tried the PC Charger. Usually, the suppressor will not be able to hold such a rig discreetly during its usual configuration. However, the user can separate the PC charger into two sections that can be glued side by side into one pocket with the option to cut the barrel and the handguard from the receptor along with the suppression attached.

Range

Of course, whether the PC Charger does not keep to the range where it counts the “cool factor” does not matter. Nor was there some problem. The nice trigger pull was the first thing I found at the beginning of the steel plate. The 10/22 control modules were used for the PC Charger. According to my Lyman digital trigger size, they have a crisp, light pull on average of 3,4 pounds. The reset was not particularly enthusiastic but gave a touchy answer with a little audible click.

We did not experience problems with the durability of the PC charger during the conduction of various brands and ammunition weights from Federal, SIG Sauer, Hornady, and the Black Hills. The blowback operating system worked without fail. It did not matter if the ball was Ammunition or hollow points or if we were using the suppressor. We had just a couple hundred rounds through the PC Charger with a limited lead time for the announcement. All appears to be ticking all the keys, though.

A heavy-contour, cold-Hammer forging barrel is provided for the PC Charger to have a long service life and great precision. We did not hold back to fire at the drill and popping steel, so much fun. But the PC Charger delivered the goods as we shot at a high speed of 6 and 8-inch plates. The Aimpoint H1 certainly helped in this respect, but the PC Charger had a point of payload. I do not doubt its potential to provide operational accuracy if it is applied.

Values

If I were to be sniffy about it, there were a lot of little things I didn’t like. I’m not too careful about the protection of the cross-bolt, so that’s what it is. Furthermore, the publication of the magazine is a little out of the way. However, that is the product of manufacturing and releasing regular gun magazines. Despite the few negatives, the end customer gains a huge value compared to comparable items on the market as it adds just $799 to the MSRP. This low price allows the shooter to make the PC Charger go as far as possible without the shopping guilt in the pocket. With the buy, it’s not necessary.

But apart from the great value that I’ve had so far, the PC Charger is also an outstanding, civil PDW platform. It’s stable, precise, scalable, and just felt like it’s set up durable, and quality. It’s an excellent piece of stop-gap gear, which you can keep in your wagon or bag or to cover under the “pistol” umbrella. I was so impressed with this PC Charger that I am giving Ruger a check to do mine. I can’t offer that better help.

Features

The Ruger PC Charger is the 9mm blowback pistol with delayed blowback in the gun’s bolt. The pistol itself is a model to distinguish the muzzle from the recipient. The pistol-free ships, so it has a 1913 train on the rear of the chassis and can be rapidly and securely added to the brace. The chassis itself is designed to take pistol grips in the AR-15 style. Also, it features a removable Magwell to use either a Ruger SLR or a Glock string. It is perhaps the intelligent component of the Ruger PC architecture since Ruger will benefit from many aftermarket magazines with Glock magazines.

The Ruger PC Charger can be operated on Glock drums, Glock 26 magazines, Glock 17 magazines, and extensive magazine combinations. In 33 rounds, 31 round magazines, 22 round magazines, 26 round magazines, 27 rounds; and all capacities, magazines can be obtained from different suppliers and can be operated in any meaningful size from the gunman.

Ergonomics

We’re going to begin with the security. The Ruger PC Charger’s security is the same protection style as the Ruger 10/22. Click the trigger finger of the gunman on the right side of the pistol for quick push-button safety. It sits directly opposite to the trigger guard and is easy to activate. When you want to make safety more secure, many security problems can occur. To do this, either you will have to break your grip and curl the trigger finger around the trigger guard and press safety to the right, or you will have to remove the grip from the guard using your support hand and use your thumb to press the safety. Thus, it doesn’t look as intuitive as a safety-like AR-15, but it’s simple to use, and the safety is more in line with the weapons I know from most newer shooters.

Grip

The gun handle of the Ruger PC Charger is a traditional Ruger AR-15-style pistol grip based on a Magpul pattern. This can easily change into any pistol grip in your favorite AR-15 round. This handle is much slower, similar to an A2-style AR handle. Ruger offered something more comfortable and ergonomic for shooting in CQB style with a flatter grip profile. It would have made you look good. The bottom of the given Ruger grip does not insert. However, you can quickly transform it into the Magpul, paraglider corp, or the grip of other firms with inserts to carry replacement batteries or equipment.

Magazine

The Ruger PC Charger magazine release is somewhat different from any of the other PCs. The well-positioned Ruger PC Charger is a little ahead of the grip. So, you cannot use the trigger finger to hit the release of the magazine. The opening of the magazine is on the left side of the pistol. So, a gunman with the right hand will use his left thumb to simultaneously click the magnet release and tear the magazine out with his hand.

The Ruger PC Charger does not work for reloading the magazine at a pace where you put it on the ground by using your hand to get a magic pouch before putting the magazine into the weapon. But in general, the style is cool because the magazine is unlikely to be published mistakenly. This is not a speed weapon, but it is easy enough that the majority of younger shooters can learn it.

Magwell

On the PC Charger, the magic is good enough to get a good little flair. It’s not that steep, but it’s still functioning well. This is an important benefit for people who are still using magazines from the Ruger SR-Series to Glock magazines. Unfortunately, magazines do not always go free. You’re going to have to strip it out. However, with this kind of weapon, I don’t find it a big problem.

Bolt Release & Hold

On the Ruger PC Charging device, there is no last-shoot bolt lock on the Ruger PC charger, even though Glock magazines and Ruger magazines have follow-up devices that can lock the slides on handguns back. If you wish to turn the bolt back, you can click up and lock the bolt back until you pull the bolt back. You can even use this piece of sheet metal before the trigger guard. This is analogous to the Ruger 10/22 rig and is similar to the diaphragm action manipulations on a shotgun series from Mossberg or Remington. It’s fast and simple to lock the bolt back when you get the hang of it. You will simply take the pistol down by cutting the barrel until the bolt locks back. To detach the muzzle from the weapon, you must lock the bolt back.

Handle

The loading handle reversed from the left or right side of the Ruger PC charger. It is a reciprocal loading handle on the side of the bolt. On the left side of the rifle is the charging grip. It comes mounted on the right side right from the factory. As a right-hand shot, I find the left-hand side more effective because I can use my hand to push the boulder and let my shooting grip on the rifle. The loading grip itself is just an aluminum squared, nothing special. It works.

However, first of all, I will warn you that you can still use this charging handle with optics like an EOTech on the side of the rail. So, you have to make sure that you take this handle low and do not bust the knuckles on an optical mount yourself.

System

You will use a lock bolt button placed before the trigger guard to take the Ruger PC charger down. As we said before, bring it up, and then lock it back with the Bolts lock pin. Once you locked the bolt on the back, the pistol will turn upside down, and a metal pin will poke out of the back of the wardrobe. Drive it in towards the muzzle and then turn the handguard itself in the direction of the clock and take it out. There’s even an extension on the front of the guard that will tighten up the fit of the barrel to make it more precise.

Configuration

Brace

No brace was supplied with my Ruger PC Charger. I don’t know of a gun with a brace choice from the factory. I attached a bracelet-type SP tactical M1913. This bracelet is a pliable brace that folds on the left side of the weapon.

RUGER PC CHARGER REVIEW

When the bucket is locked back to the rear, it fits snuggly under the loading handle, and when you lock in, you must click the socket or brace under the loading handle itself when you pull the sock to the front. Different braces embrace mounts in the 1913 style; so, you won’t lack braces for the pistol.

Optics

The weapon doesn’t have iron sights, but I saw that “Dan Haga Designs” designs iron looks for this weapon. You might have flip-up sights, but you will have a limited radius of view, maybe around 8 inches somewhere. I won’t advise you to do so and claim to run a red dot or take a peek at the sights of Dan Haga.

Mounting an optic to this weapon is simple, but, as I mentioned earlier, you want an Aimpoint T-2 optical profile with something narrower. I’ve got a rifle fixed on the Holosun HS403GL. This is a very fine Aimpoint micro-style optic, and I don’t have to think when I use the firearms about touching the recharger stick.

Accessory Mounting on the PC Charger

In addition to the Ruger PC Charger optics, mounting accessories are not the simplest in the world. There are 2 M-LOK slots at 9, 3, & 6 hours in the handguard on the front. On top of the handguard, there are no M-LOK slots. Manufacturers are manufacturing postmarket handguards to provide more rail space and assembly possibilities. A hand stopped UTG is given on the handguard floor for the Ruger PC charger. Astonishingly well is the hand quit being UTG, and I find it beneficial that you take a good hold on the front of your arms and that your hand doesn’t slide forward.

Light

It was not as quick or ideal to mount a light on this weapon as I had hoped. The best option for me is to place on the right side of the pistol a rail in the 1913 style. And then set the 1913 rail to be the Streamlight TLR-1 HL. In this way, I could turn on the light with my central finger. It’s a really good setup that helps me to pull the trigger on or off for a second. It’s a nice setup. It works, but it gives the weapon a lot of widths. I wish there had been a set-up to get things a little higher for me.

I can see an offset mount with an angle of 45 degrees mounted in light. However, I did not find something decent that keeps a Streamlight TLR-1 close to the rail. You won’t have enough space to put your light on your thumb if you’ll use a one-inch-thick corporate light like a Surefire other Streamlight product. If you run a suppressor and use a quantity, such as a mounting mount, you will have enough space.

Sling

The rear QD sockets on both sides of the chassis are right above the rear brake mount, allowing you to mount a sling to this gun. They are well-positioned for a 1-point bow, but you would probably have a problem if you try to put a 2-point belt in this pistol. You can cast a QD on the front of the rail, but it can hinder the weapon’s grasp. It leaves the forward 9 am M-LOK slot open that will be a nice spot to use for a QD comp. I will pick this handle up when I am. But the second point of a 2-point sling behind your side will not be able to be carried.

Suppressor

Ruger PC 9 Loader Suppression: Standard 1 half by 28 thick barrels, Ruger PC 9 Charger does not have a problem suppressing the weapon. That said, the weapon is not good enough. The operation is free, so the weapon is very loud because it is 9mm.

A good thing is that the weapon does not have many rebounds because of this bolt mechanism, but the bolt still flips back very easily, allowing the weapon’s chamber to escape a lot of sounds. It was a quieter gun versus my other pistol-caliber carbines such as the Stribog and the SIG MPX that I considered the Ruger PC Charger. I have a three-wheel mount fixed right now, so it’s easy to go from gun to gun with my suppressor. I believe this gun shines in its unsuppressed format, though, and it is just fun to fire in the range.

Trigger pull

When you know about a Ruger 10/22, your Ruger PC Carbine Charger Pistol can make you sound familiar. The Ruger PC Charger is equivalent to a 22-trigger kit, which is small in dimension. You are going to feel a little like taking the Ruger PC charge trigger. And you are going to touch a little bit of a wall. You can sense the break from the wall.

It is a fast trigger, but it is not healthy. It is a plastic button, honestly. Not to mention that the pistol is not reset. On the reboot, the button sounds rather mushy. When it reset, you hear an audible sound, but it almost resets to the original starting point of the trigger. Several companies have developed Ruger PC Charger trigger packs. But it’s a good trigger that you can enjoy if you don’t want to spend more money on this weapon.

Shooting

The Ruger PC 9 Charger’s ergonomics are powerful. This weapon reminds me of an AK-47 and an AR-15 if they had a kid and shot 9mm. In its place, the handguard is a little low. It would be nicer if it were more advanced, but this would make the weapon longer and negate the aim of the Ruger PC Charger. I would confess that I never gripped the Magwell with any weapons. But the Ruger PC Charger makes you feel like that by bringing your hand back to the Magwell. You have a stronger grasp.

On an AR-15, I will never claim that. But there is just something on this pistol on how the Magwell hand is doing. It is very unpleasant to grab the guard a little more, and I seem to grab tighter with a more secure grasp. On any other weapons, I can’t say I’ve had that ever. Ruger PC charger is an enjoyable experience to shoot. The weapons are fun to fire. And though it does not subside well, when you put a suppressor in front of it, the pistol is much more fun to fire. It’s not any calmer, but for some reason, it just makes shooting interesting.

Recoil

The pulse of recoil is not unpleasant at all on the Ruger PC Charger. A few more recurring than 5.56 AR-15s are lightweight pistol-caliber 9mm carbines. This weapon is a little higher, but it has no recurrence. With bolt’s method and its blowback system, Ruger’s tames a successful task. And it’s a perfect non-bullying weapon for novice shooters to shoot.

There’s not much muzzle on the pistol, so the barrel as a gunman is very far ahead of you. This weapon is in the range I want to fire. You won’t achieve any significant efficiency gains anything like a SIG MPX. This recoil is much smaller than a standard 9mm pistol-caliber carbine AR-15’s blowback. However, it is not as powerful as the recoils of an HK MP5 or a SIG MPX. It’s somewhere in between. However, you can also understand that the Ruger PC Charger is less than half the price for a SIG MPX and is much cheaper than in HK MP5.

The weapons are simple to load, and new shooters are controlled directly outside the box. In my view, this is the comparable gun caliber to a modern AK, which teaches almost all to use. For those who are unfamiliar with firearms, the controls are easy.

Accuracy

It’s a beautiful little weapon. The precision is about seven MOA. This is usual for a 9 mm long, 100 meters long. It’s still small enough to cover the chest section of a man-sized target. A 100 yards is also about as far as you are going to go with this gun. It’s quite accurate and more so than any standard handgun. The trigger is amazing. It’s quite short and on par with the higher-end MPX trigger. It’s much better than the CZ Scorpion trigger. The trigger is light, has a short wall, and breaks cleanly with a short reset.

Final Thoughts

The Ruger PC Charger is the best choice if you’re looking for a nice weapon for the whole family. It can be easily stowed in a backpack, as the pistol breaks down into many pieces. Bear in mind that the Charger is a huge weapon so I recommend using it in a hidden way.

The controls are simple to use and make it an excellent home-defense tool, especially if you have loved ones who do not know guns that well, and you hope they should learn its function properly. Does it cost double the price of guns?? No, but with its variety of prices, it’s frankly one of the lowest retreat weapons I saw. The Ruger PC Charger falls into its category, and that category is different from anything great on the market. If you’re looking for a fun weapon, it’s definitely a great choice. I think that you will have to push hard to beat the Charger Ruger PC.
